Kastoria is a city in northern Greece, in the region of West Macedonia. It is the capital of the regional unit of Kastoria and is located on a peninsula on the western shore of Lake Orestiada, in a valley surrounded by limestone mountains. The city is known for its many Byzantine churches, Byzantine and Ottoman architecture, the lake, and the fur industry.
First stop: Holy Monastery of Panagia Mavriotissa (Driving approximately 3 hours / Stop 45 minutes)
OR Holy Monastery of Panagia Mavriotissa It is built on the spot where the troops of the Byzantine general George Palaiologos surrounded the Norman invaders in 1083. It is believed that Emperor Alexios I Komnenos (1081–1118) built the monastery to commemorate the event.
Around Lake Kastoria there are 72 churches and chapels, with the Mavriotissa to be one of the oldest.

Second stop: Dragon's Cave
Stalactites and stalagmites of various shapes decorate the 10 rooms of the cave, while the 7 underground lakes along a 300-meter path create a unique experience.
Third stop: Lunch at a local tavern (1 hour and 30 minutes)
Fourth and final stop: Free time in front of the lake (1 hour)
Stroll on the beach, enjoy a coffee with a great view or do whatever you wish.
