First Stop: Rila Monastery (UNESCO)
After about 3 hours of driving, there is a 45-minute stop at the imposing Rila Monastery, one of the most important spiritual centers in Bulgaria. It was founded in the 10th century by Saint John of Rila and served as a refuge and place of worship for centuries. The current building complex, a symbol of the Bulgarian cultural awakening, was built between 1834 and 1862, after it was destroyed by fire. It includes impressive architecture, iconography and important exhibits in the monastery museum.

Arrival in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, where we will meet the local guide for a 2.5-hour tour.
Sofia, at the foot of Mount Vitosha, is one of the oldest cities in Europe with a history that dates back to 7000 BC and extends from the Roman era to the Bulgarian Renaissance. During the tour we will get to know the main attractions of the city and enjoy its unique architecture and atmosphere.
